Craft

The Craft skill is created by adding points to Profession. A GM may award a craft skill to a character for other reasons.

The Craft skill can be used in a couple of ways. First and foremost, it can be used to create objects. The DC for this is generally subjective, to the GM's discretion, but guidelines for this are listed in the following table:

Example situation Recommended DC
Crafting the very thing you are trained in to a mediocre level. eg. A carpenter making a basic table. 5
Crafting something you are trained in to a very high quality. eg. a weaponsmith making an extra sharp blade. 20
Crafting something made of similar materials to what you work with, but not the same sort of design. eg. a pauper making a boat's sail. 15
Crafting something tangentially related to your craft, but using materials you aren't used to and in a situation that is unfamiliar. eg. an armorer building a wall for a fort. 25

The craft skill can also be used as a "job" skill. For example, you could have a craft skill of "fishing" which you can use to catch fish to feed the party.

Further to this, a craft skill centred around creating items could be used as a "job" skill as well. For example, a woodworker might be able to identify a weak point in a door's construction that someone not experienced with wood would have missed.
