Vandergest is the only town on Oaken Island. It is a small fishing and farming village made up of only a few families. An elven priest named Faendar runs the temple, professing that worship of any deity is and should be acceptable. There is an inn, The Mermaid's Head, which has rooms that haven't been rented out in decades. The townsfolk often meet in the inn's downstairs bar and restaurant, however, using it primarily as a town hall and social centre. There is a smith, who is mostly dedicated to making and repairing farming tools. In the centre of town sits a foreboding statue of a man. The townsfolk don't like it but are superstitious and afraid to knock it down.
